I’m a German teacher because...

...I like to show people how to feel comfortable in a new language – in everyday situations, in their jobs and/or their studies as well as connections with other people

My favorite students are...

...´the ones that are motivated to learn the language, as well as the ones practicing for their exams (telc-/Goethe certificate) or their degree (DSH/TestDaF/Telc-C1 Hochschule).

My favorite object is...

... pen, laptop, sewing machine

On the weekends I am...

... enjoying paragliding or deepsea diving :-) I enjoy being creative and think of new ideas

... I love languages and communicating and love being in contact with people from all over the world

My favorite students are...

... open, friendly and funny. They are ready to speak to me in German starting at level A1.1 and of course they pay their bills happily and readily :-)

My favorite object is...

... I don't have one, but I like to be close to happy and multi-faceted people and things

On the weekends I am...

... I like going for hikes in the woods around my area and like meeting friends for pizza and good conversation

...and because I love this language despite its peculiarity

My favorite students are...

...interested, open for discussions and ready to bring in food typical for their country of origin :-)

My favorite object is...

...my sewing machine with which I upcycle old clothing or make new one

On the weekends I am...

I’m a German teacher because...

...because I dared to disagree with my German teacher when I was a student. It was different times back then, teachers were infallible. After I was told I should first become a German teacher before correcting mine, I decided to become one...especially one that doesn't preach from the pulpit but takes questions seriously and examines them. Plus, German always fascinated me a great deal, it's the language of poets and thinkers, it's so rich, it has logic and peculiarities. I caught the spark and am still super enthusiastic about what I am doing

My favorite students are...

...inqusitive, persistent, motivated and in a good mood...they are absolutely allowed to disagree with me.

My favorite object is...

...I don't think I have that, at least not a favorite one...maybe a book, my dancing shoes or my yoga mat

On the weekends I am.....

...a mom, a cook, a teacher, a friend, an entertainer, a psycholigist...so very versatile and busy.

I’m a German teacher because...

... I enjoy getting to know other people from another culture and I am convinced that it is mutual learning. We teach each other.

My favorite students are...

...curious, enthusiastic and above all cheerful - so good humour is guaranteed.

My favorite object is...

... my mobile phone. I can research anything I want to know about the whole world with my smartphone. A great invention.

On the weekends I am.....

... travelling by train to discover new cities and places in Germany.

I’m a German teacher because......

... I actually got here on accident, but I am super happy about it! I always wanted to "work with people" and with languages, but I was also interested in psychology. Being a teacher for German as a foreign language I can perfectly combine these interests and I get to meet great people and their culture. I wouldn't want it any other way!

My favorite students are...

...all of them! I'm trying not to have any. But of course I am happy with motivated and friendly students that are open and respectful towars their fellow students.

My favorite object is...

...right now it's my Ipad, because it makes it possible to teach online and be able to still work during these hard times

On the weekends I am......

... I like to travel to Franconian Switzerland or love to play board games.

I’m a German teacher because...

...I've always been interested in languages. I've learned English, French and Russian and hope to be of support to my studends in learning German with this background. As a bonus I learn a lot of culturally intersting facts from my students.

My favorite students are...

...people, that habe their own questions. I like students that try to think in German and therefor always habe questions during class.

My favorite object is...
...nothing I can touch: the language. It's fascinating, versatile and mutating, it inspires emotions and you can play with it.

On the weekends I am...

...nothing different than during the week as it has always been important to me to have a job that suits me. That way I don't have to play two roles: a private one and a business one

Solveig

thumbnail_IMG_3491.jpg

I'm a German teacher because...

... I love this job so much and there is no better job for me than this one.

My favorite students are ...

....all, that means everyone is a favorite student, e.g. the one who talks freely and doesn`t care about mistakes (That`s why I`m here, to correct them.) or also the one who is a bit reserved at the beginning, but then slowly thaws out ... just everyone ...

My favorite object is...

.... for teaching already my laptop, because it simply contains everything I need in class: videos, links, pictures ... Outside of class my favorite item at the moment (because of the lockdown) is my bike, because I can keep fit by cycling. I also love my coffee cup and it loves me too ...

On the weekends...

... I like to go for a walk, sit in the sun and read a book or listen to music. Or I meet friends for a coffee and then we talk and talk and talk and don't even notice how time flies ...

I’m a German teacher because...

...I find it fascsinating how students make great strides learning a new language. It's like a puzzle: piece by piece a new picute is being created with a lot of "whoa!"-moments!

My favorite students are...

...inquisitive, open and funny. They enjoy life and learning. They are spontanous and I get to learn from them every day.

My favorite object is...

...changing a lot. Right now it's my watch and my scrapbook

On the weekends I am...

...either out and about or being lazy on my couch

Susi

I’m a German teacher because...

...German is a very multifaceted and  precise language.

...it's always a great success when students without any prior knowledge can express themselves in German after only a few weeks/months

...you get to meet so many diverse people from different cultural backgrounds, which expands your own horizon

...you never get bored

...there are so many other reasons that would be way too much here :-)

My favorite students are...

...all of the ones that are open for the German langauge and culture. The ones that come to class motivated and interested and that enjoy learning

My favorite object is...

...my reading glasses, because I always see clearly with them.

On the weekends I am...

...in winter I enjoy being lazy on my couch or at the thermal bath. In summer I like being active, like hiking or riding my bike
